Have you experienced several weight loss programs without success? Then you’re probably similar as me. The main problem was weight instability and short term weight changes. A certain weight is reached and then several days later the weight slowly creeps back up. This phenomenon commonly named as yo-yo diet syndrome.

We all know that yo-yo dieting is not healthy. You should avoid this syndrome but only with easy ways. There are a few ways to help you “seal the deal” once and for all. This time you can lose the weight and keep it off.

A written contract. This is the foundation of successfully diet program. You have to build a self commitment to achieve targeted body weight. There’s nothing as ironclad as a contract. Write your weight loss goals in the form of an agreement and post it on the refrigerator and the bathroom mirror. Keep also a copy in your wallet or handbag.

Find a workout partner. A workout partner could increase your motivation to achieve your weight loss goal. Both of you can challenge each other to increase your strength and stamina.

Ask your family to help. Your family could help you keep out of trouble. You can ask them to remind you if you forgot your daily workout or to remind you to drink water. Obviously your family will not act like the diet police, but they should gently encourage and motivate you whenever possible.

Create a diet plan. Preparation is the key to your weight loss program success. The easiest example of diet planning is preparing lunches the night before and places them in the refrigerator. If you late the next morning, all you need to do is grab your lunch box and go. Shop healthy food only with a grocery list and stick to it. Don’t forget also to throw away all of high calorie foods from your refrigerator.

Reward yourself. When a monthly weight loss goal is met, reward yourself. This is important to keep your high motivation. The treats should not be food related. Choose rewards that pamper your body and your soul. A few ideas are: a day at the spa, hair salon, a manicure, or a pedicure. Splurge on a figure flattering outfit or a new pair of shoes. For the guys, a day at the ball game, or fishing, or a new outfit would do just fine.
